Château de Tautal Bas

Château de Tautal Bas
The history of Chateau de Tautal Bas can be traced as far back as 1300, when it was in possession of 'Le Tautail' family. Situated at a hight of 1000 metres, it offers spectacular views of the area, including the Lac de Menet.
The château is situated in 110 acres of private land. The "Domaine de Tautal Bas" has woodlands as well as pastures and five natural wells. Two rivers form the borders of the estate. Our estate is situated in the middle of the Parc Volcan d'Auvergne, the second largest national park in France and definitely one of the most beautiful areas. The Parc is located between the Ardèche, the Corrèze and the Dordogne.

Your stay
At the estate we have two exclusive cottages. Experience the quietness of nature in quintessential rural farms. Stroll around the hills, row the little peddlingboat at the (private) Lake de Tautal. Observe the birds of prey, owls, dear, and wild boar. Enjoy warm summer evenings, in winter enjoy the suprisingly warm wintersun.
Or have a nice break at the swimming pool.

Catch words for the Cantal are: simplicity, authenticity, pureness, reflection. Naturelovers will feel at home all year round, however, your silence might be disturbed by owls and woodpeckers.
